Germany’s PCB sales in August dropped by 1.5% year-on-year, according to the Central Association of PCB and Electronic Systems. The figure also was also nearly 4% below the average of the last 10 years.
Likewise, incoming orders were slow; compared to August of last year, incoming order was 12.4% lower. However, total incoming orders for the first eight months of 2013 reached the same level as that of last year.The book-to-bill ratio in August, meanwhile, was 0.89.
In terms of workforce, the number of employees in the PCB industry in August was 4.5% lower compared to last year, driven mainly by the closure of a multinational company.
