Co-Tech Copper Foil, which supplies copper foil used to manufacture CCLs and PCBs, now expects its sales ratio between the first and second halves of 2013 to be 50:50. The firm previously estimated the ratio at 45:55.
Demand for copper foil from PCB makers in July and August will be lower than that in the first half of the year due to low capacity utilization rates at PCB suppliers, said the company.
PCB players producing boards for notebooks, desktops and other consumer goods are mostly operating below 70% of their capacity at present, and therefore, the overall capacity utilization rate for the copper foil industry is likely to hover around 60-70% in the third quarter, Co-Tech estimated.
